But somehow, Fred Thompson did. I’ve neither spoken to the man nor seen him in person. When I hear him speak, whether it be in a charcter role or as himself, his words pass through me and I register something different, a hidden message that he’s tailored specifically for me. He tells me that American politics is a weird, strange place right now, that the world is a bit screwey and confused right now. He tells me that as long as I keep my faith in the U.S. grounded, and as long as I continue to be who I am, everything will be ok.
In March, he began to flirt with the idea of running for president. I’ve got a lot of opinions, many of which are arguably silly. One opinion I can certainly state as fact is this: Fred Thompson stands 10 feet taller than his competition. He is the most genuine, most patriotic, and most reluctant man to ever consider the run. With the exception of my wife and country, I’d give up anything for the opportunity to help him heal this nation. He is, in the immortal words of Josh Lyman, the real deal.
I say this not as a partisan hack, not as a neocon paladin, and not as an attack against any current presidential candidate. I’m simply introducing you to the next POTUS. Take a minute to listen to him speak; you’ll find it refreshing. If you want to help, donate some cash through the big grey “I’m with Fred” box in the sidebar.

potus you assert! perhaps.
i believe the man knows how to get a point across. i don’t know if he has what it takes to determine the relevant points that need to be made, and that development can occur once at the helm. it makes me hesitant when i consider our inbuilt systematic bias in the evaluation of a leader. no campaign during my time here focues on such things in an appropriate fashion. no, they are purposely meant to charm, to allure, to convince and influence. maybe his will be different, i would be impressed.
i don’t allow myself to become influenced by others. i’ve not yet come across, read about, been told about, seen, heard, spoke to, or in any way been introduced to the existance of another whom i would place considerable faith in, who inspires me and who challenges me. i really want to though. i want see people like that rise. but, my support must be acquired by fair means, and i am a harsh critic.
maybe i’m too much of a cynic, many times i think so.
“talk” is the easiest thing we will ever do.

Yeah, I gotta agree with that Moncherou person. Not that i’m a cynic (some might disagree), it’s just that I have a distrust of anyone who would want to be the next POTUS at this point in history. It’s like being a mutineer on the Titanic after it hit the iceberg. I don’t want to imply that America is in collapse, just that its a very frightening time (I need a hug). It’s going to take an ultra-charismatic person to persuade me that everything is going to alright.
